The head of the World Health Organization voiced confidence that countries would one day reach a deal on a pandemic accord. Health officials from the WHO's 194 member states are seeking to wrap up more than two years of negotiations on rules for responding to pandemics this week in Geneva. In more news from China, the country has set up its third planned state-backed investment fund to boost its semiconductor industry, with a registered capital of $47.5 billion, according to a filing with a government-run companies registry. Elon Musk's AI startup xAI raised $6 billion in series B funding, reaching a post-money valuation of $24 billion as investors bet big on challengers to companies like OpenAI in the AI race. The funding round was backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital. Fiat owner Stellantis is expected to announce a hybrid version of its 500e small electric car to be produced at its Mirafiori plant in Italy, two sources familiar with the matter said, confirming a report by Automotive News Europe.
